What Is Our Summer Camp?

BELA Adventure Camp is a structured, enriching program designed to keep school-age children engaged, active, and having fun during the summer months. Running from May 26 through August 6, our camp gives kids ages 6–10 a safe, supervised environment where they can explore, make friends, and create memories that last well beyond the school bell.

Children who stay active and engaged over the summer return to school more confident, more social, and more ready to learn.

Our program blends purposeful activities with plenty of free play so kids don't just survive the summer — they thrive in it.

Who Is This Program For?

Our summer camp is designed specifically for school-age children between the ages of 6 and 10. Whether your child attended BELA during the school year or is joining us for the first time, they'll feel welcomed, safe, and ready to dive into the fun from day one.

What Makes Our Summer Camp Special

Experienced Camp Educators

Our summer camp staff are early childhood and school-age development professionals — not just summer employees. Many hold degrees or certifications in education or child development, and all hold current CPR and first aid certifications. Your child is in capable, caring hands every single day.

Small Groups, Big Impact

We maintain staff-to-child ratios that meet or exceed Colorado state licensing standards, ensuring every child receives personal attention, feels seen, and is supported in their growth throughout the summer.

Enrichment That Goes Beyond Screen Time

In a world where kids are more digitally connected than ever, our summer camp provides intentional, screen-free enrichment. Children build real-world skills through hands-on projects, collaborative games, outdoor exploration, and off-campus adventures — returning home tired in the best possible way.

Field Trips & Off-Campus Adventures

Field trips run June 1 through July 31 and take campers to some of the best destinations in and around Aurora and Denver — parks, water parks, the zoo, museums, and more. All trips are chaperoned by vetted staff, follow our strict safety protocols, and come with advance parent notice and permission forms.

Summer Camp Frequently Asked Questions

What ages does the summer camp serve?

Our summer camp is open to children ages 6–10. Activities and group dynamics are tailored for school-age kids, making it a great fit for kids who've just wrapped up kindergarten through 4th grade.

What should my child bring each day?

Campers should arrive with a packed lunch, a refillable water bottle, sunscreen applied before arrival, and comfortable closed-toe shoes. We'll provide a full packing checklist upon enrollment. Snacks are provided twice daily by Balance ELA.

How do field trips work? Are there additional costs?

Field trips run June 1 through July 31 and include destinations like parks, water parks, the zoo, museums, and more. All trips are supervised at licensed staff-to-child ratios and follow our full safety protocols. Contact us for details on any trip costs.

What if my child has never attended Balance ELA before?

Welcome! Our summer camp is a fantastic entry point for new families. Our staff are experienced at helping children transition into a new group environment comfortably.

How do you handle children with allergies or dietary restrictions?

We take allergies seriously. During enrollment, families complete a health and dietary information form. All staff are informed of relevant allergies, and our snack selections are made with common allergens in mind. For severe allergies, we work with families to create an individualized safety plan.

What happens if my child is not feeling well?

We follow current public health guidelines for illness exclusion to protect all campers and staff.

Is summer camp registration separate from the school-year program?

Yes — summer camp registration is handled separately. Current Balance ELA families receive priority enrollment, but spots are open to the broader community. We encourage early registration as summer weeks can fill quickly.

What is the staff-to-child ratio at summer camp?

We always meet or exceed Colorado state licensing standards for staff-to-child ratios during summer programming. Field trips maintain these ratios or better to ensure safe and appropriate supervision off-campus.

How do I enroll?

You can enroll by scheduling a tour through our website, or calling our office at 303-751-4004. Our staff will walk you through the enrollment process, answer any questions.
